Malachy Shivnan
Body in Motion was founded by Mal Shivnan and his wife Sarah in 2002. In 2001, while completing his Masters in Manipulative Physiotherapy, Mal was awarded the Mark Steptoe Memorial Prize for attaining the best overall standard in postgraduate manipulative physiotherapy. Mal also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Medicine and a Bachelor of Physical Education degree. Mal has worked extensively with elite sports teams and athletes and is a carded provider for the New Zealand Academy of Sport.
Roger Athy-Knibbs - Principal

Roger joined Body in Motion in 2007 after emigrating from the United Kingdom with his wife and young family. Roger’s expertise is in sports medicine and he has worked extensively with elite athletes both here and overseas. He was head physiotherapist with the London Wasps rugby club when the team won the 2007 Heineken Cup in Europe. Roger has completed post-graduate training in myofascial and visceral release, manual therapy, muscle balance and core stability. He is currently studying towards a post-graduate diploma in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
Roger works with the Bay of Plenty Steamers rugby team, ANZ Magic Netball team, Bay of Plenty Netball and Bay of Plenty Cricket.
