Pilates Mat Classes at Papamoa

At Papamoa, Mat classes are led by Lucy Hammond. Lucy is an experienced physiotherapist who has undertaken clinical pilates training with Empower Pilates. Lucy is also a keen yoga student having practiced Ashtanga yoga for the last 5 years.


If you are new to Pilates, mat work is a great place to begin. All of the fundamental movements and Pilates exercise principles are incorporated in the mat exercises.

  • We offer small class sizes so that individual attention is given to every client. This ensures that exercises are performed safely and with the correct technique.
  • The exercises are adaptable to any fitness level.
  • Mat classes incorporate equipment such as theraband, swiss balls and foam rollers to provide challenge to those who need it.
  • With regular practice your core strength, flexibility, posture and balance will improve. You will be relaxed, centred, energized and have a sense of wellbeing.

Cost is $99 for 8 sessions - Intensive: twice per week for 4 weeks

OR Standard: once per week for 8 weeks
